A very interesting and easy to read and follow site. Has given me lots of information and ideas to make the family history that much more interesting than a list of names long since passed out of memory.

Comments:

The site is so interesting as I am researching my family roots. Both my parents and grandparents lived in Summerseat, their surnames were Bird and Clegg, they both lived near the church at the Rowlands. I visited Summerseat many times as a child, but after going to Bury Grammar School have spent the last almost 30 years in Cambridge with my family.

Please keep the good work up, it is fascinating.

My branch of WARDS originates from Leicestershire but emigrated slowly through Nottinghamshire and settled in Derbyshire. The lure of the coal outweighed the smell of the farm manure!

Notable places: Market Rasen, Newark, Fishpool (now Ravenshead)Stockwith, Leabrooks & Riddings

I also have a good collection of old family photographs.

Thank you for a wonderful site. I was in tears when I saw the photos of the old graveyard. For sometime I have been hoping to visit this place to leave flowers.

I look forward to the day I can do that.

Researching the SCOTT genealogy

Surnames I am Researching:

I am researching my Great Grandmother's family SCOTT.

I have very little info at the moment.

She was born Francis Mary SCOTT b.1852 of Aston Warwickshire to Henry SCOTT b.1817 and Jane b.1819 of Birmingham. Francis also had a brother, Henry S. SCOTT b.1844 of Birmingham, Aston, a silver smith. I would like to go back further in history.
