My father Lindley Talbot was in R E M E at this time. I have a small Christmas card sent to me from France 1944. The front shows Mercury balanced on a globe. A banner underneath read 13 LofC SIGNALS. Our family tree is being researched and we want as much information as possible on my fathers war service. He came home safe and sound.

The site is really time consuming and hard to look through for information.

I am trying to search all possible links and I am hitting a lot of dead ends. I realize this is in part because I have limited information to start with.

Researching:

I am looking for William Ward. Born about 1850 in England. He emigrated to the United States around 1885. He married Mary Morgan around 1883. Mary was born in Wales. They had 2 children while in England. Laura born in July 1883 and Arthur born in April 1885. I have no names for parents or other information of William or Mary. Information I have is from family ancestors and US Census.

Family gossip has it that he was married before in England and may have left a family there. Any help in finding information about William and Mary would be greatly appreciated.

Very informative and thought provoking - two of my ancestors had to work in a match factory in Newcastle upon Tyne after the head of the house died and I wanted to know more about the conditions they would have faced.

I am just now trying to trace my family line.

I live in an East Texas town named Marshall but my family came from Titus County Texas near present day Mount Pleasant.

What I am trying to find out is when my ancestors first came to America. I am also interested in finding and communicating with my ancestors in the UK or anywhere else they may be.

By vocation I am a school teacher. I teach middle school history so I am extremely interested in researching my own history.

My wife, Barbara, has been researching the Ward family through Ancestory. She just found Eben James Ward links and was curious as to why he died in Indonesia, then found reference to "Captain" Eben James Ward. Do you have any information on the ship he captained? He was my ggggggrandfather. Thanks

Wondering if a house called "Park Hills" in Bury is still standing. Descendants of mine use to own it. Old photos of it would be particularly useful.
